Shards
of the lost
⋆。°✩ Jien YueXia⋆。°✩
⟡Jien YueXia is a mysterious woman from the Xianzhou Luofu and is the current team supervisor and leader of a team of Armed Archeologists at the Intelligentsia Guild.
◈Jien, or otherwise known as ▇▇▇▇, is a person from another world. Having survived a cataclysmic event that ripped through her and the fabric of time and space itself, which resulted in her being shattered into many “seeds” that have become their own people in the world they were cast to. These seeds took root in their respective lands and have grown into the people of that world, but they remained as “Shards” of Jien.
◈While her Shards got a chance at a peaceful life and a place of belonging, Jien was left scarred by the event and was left to wander an unknown land with only her notebook to her name. The notebook was her object of calmness and she'd often sketch or journal in it, and along her travels she has found out she possesses a new power. As long as her mind's eye could see it, imagine it, she was able to manifest an object from her notebook, although she strays far from attempting to create anything living. The closest thing to something 'alive' being created by her hand are the horns on her head and her tail, as well as another form she scarcely even thinks to use.
◈For a long, long time Jien had no will to do anything but wander, becoming a ghost to everyone she came across and in some places she became a local myth, heralding good or evil, depending on who you asked. She'd use her notebook for survival when no other way was possible to get by. From time to time she'd lead a lost soul from the sandy wastelands or the rainforests on the planet she found herself on, helping them get back to the cities, but never closely interacted.
◈Jien had lost the taste for life as well, but kept going for the sake of a promise she gave to herself long ago. She had debated to simply end it, but the knowledge that her death may cause the death of all her Shards pulled her away from that decision.
◈On this planet's central city, in which she wandered for food and knowledge, she met a travelling merchant who mistook her for a Vidyadhara and offered to take her back 'home'. After much contemplation, she agreed to go with him. And during their trip to Xianzhou Luofu, feigning amnesia, the kind merchant offered her a name to take - Jien YueXia.
◈Her arrival on Xianzhou Luofu prompted both awe and some more unsavory reactions. She wasn’t well received by the Vidyadhara at first as they considered her existence an odd miracle which they didn’t take for a good omen. A few individuals of their kind extended their hospitality towards her and taught her the languages and their histories. One of these ‘mentors’ described her as sluggish and lazy but with a buried determination and endless potential. She had a great love for histories, and it took a long while for her to come around to expressing herself openly. She earned her reputation as a “Fake Vidyadhara”, but was otherwise known for her strictness and protectiveness when it came to guarding the hatchlings and the young foxian children.
◈Around this time a team of Armed Archaeologists was granted access to an excavation site near her place of residence and she’d sometimes linger around and watch them work, but the archeologists were scared to approach her no matter how curious they were. And whenever they’d try to talk to her after, it would seem as if they were never able to catch her. At long last they got an audience with her, and afterwards Jien managed to get them access to a better site for their research on the condition that they share their knowledge and findings with her.
◈After their research had concluded Kaiya, the team leader at the time, proposed that she join them and the Intelligentsia Guild as she had shown much skill, knowledge and the thirst for more of it. As Jien had found traces of her Shard during their excavation which heightened her alarm and dread, she ended up taking the offer when the Team was about to depart Xianzhou.
◈Jien YueXia became the new team leader and supervisor after a while, with Kaiya being her right hand. Even with all of her absence among the team, she ensures that her team is taken care of and often travels ahead of them to break the path forward or to ensure that it is safe for them. The Team itself soon gained great independence, even in the financial regard, and became quite well known in the Guild.
◈There was only a handful of times when her team had acted out and against all her orders, but the last time it happened was the most severe and ended up in the destruction of the lands around the excavation site. It was the first time the team witnessed Jien’s anger, and the last time they acted out.

゚☁︎ Proxy ゚☁︎
: ̀➛ Proxy, a charming woman that claims to work for the Intelligentsia Guild.
✵ Proxy has all but severed all her connections to her family life as well as any ties that held her to her humanity and has strayed down all the dark alleys to reach power. Having been raised in a rough environment she grew into a temperamental woman, bitter and seemingly set off by the smallest disagreements and mishaps; representing the worst of Jien, embodying all her anger, regret, all the dark thoughts and illnesses.
✵ In appearance, she is little different to what Jien YueXia looks like, having the same facial structure and body. The small differences only come in clothing choice and the red streak of hair that Proxy has. But to someone that is not well acquainted with either of them would be none the wiser to who is who.
✵ "Proxy" was the title she received upon joining a organization of other kindred spirits like her that sought to follow the "faceless man", bringing terror to others for their own gains, taking vengeance or chasing lost joy through spilled blood. But it is now the name she wears, not just a title.
✵ It was through the ‘faceless man’ that she had awoken the memory of someone else, that being Jien, and the secret of how she came to be. After witnessing the onslaught of memories she had begun to hate Jien, believing the actions of putting her through so much bitterness in her life was Jien’s doing, and vowed to put Jien through the same pain.
✵She is quite the charmer and although her conversation skills can use honing, she has an odd way of making friends, and if not friends then certainly corpses. There is a tale that, after defeating them in a duel, she drank with her enemies under their torn and bloodied banners, and in the months following after that, those two have become a part of her own group, following her into the unknown lands.
✵ Upon closer inspection of her health and body, it was found that Proxy suffers from some form of Mara which flares up in moments of great anger or distress, and sometimes when she forces herself to go into such highly sensitive emotional states. As a traveler from another world, the illness doesn't strike her as hard or as quick as it would a native of this world. It causes flashes of blindness which lead to Proxy acting impulsively and on sheer instinct alone. Due to this, Proxy has taken steps to calm her soul and body by learning ways of meditation and other calming arts. She always smells of incense, and dresses lightly in warm and light colors.
✵ As her Mara is still in its development stages, she doesn’t possess any physically anomalies from the sickness apart from a thin branch of ginkgo leaves that grows in new spots every time Proxy rips it out. Ginkgo leaves follow her everywhere she goes.
✵As another form of medical treatments against the illness, Proxy has taken on practices and rituals that involve cannibalism.
✵ Her group has made connections with the people within the Guild with Proxy now keeping spies throughout the organization. But despite not working for them, she claims she works for the Guild and uses the information gathered from the spies to her advantage to gain passage in areas she’d otherwise have to use brute force to enter. But her activity, both good and bad, have now begun to be applied to Jien due to their likeness, which has become problematic and dangerous for Jien.
✧˚ · .Trivia✧˚ · .
⟡Jien has written many books under the name ‘WangWei’ and these books have become quite popular across Xianzhou. From children’s books about a hedgehog and his warm home and all the way to complex pieces of horror and political fantasy dramas. These books are rewrites of the books from her home that she doesn't want to forget. This is her way of remembering her own world and sharing her love of it to others, leaving blank pages where she doesn’t remember the text.
⟡Jien is avoidant in her attachments to anyone and everyone, but she too longs for connections and often finds herself watching others interact, sometimes remembering her old memories, feeling banished from the world but finding a weird sort of solace in that. She has learned much from just observing and often found herself thinking what would have happened if she did something else or said more when she could.
⟡Proxy is the only Shard that is aware of Jien and her existence, knowing that she came from Jien and has made it her goal to take the power away from her and become the ‘Original’.
⟡Her current name Jien YueXia was given to her by a traveling merchant who she agreed to travel with to Xianzhou Luofu - that merchant is believed to be Luocha.
⟡The name YueXia has two interpretations, first being “exceeding/beyond the (rosy) clouds” and since the pronunciation sounds like 月下(yue xia) it also means ‘under the moonlight’.
⟡Jien is able to summon a dragon form for herself from her notebook, and her sounds and roars have distinct undertones of shuffling papers. Although the form is essentially borne from paper, her scales and teeth are hard to the touch and don't resemble paper at all, possessing a faint sheen of gold to them. The form requires great effort and will to keep up, and Jien scarcely ever reaches for this power.
